Write the book. Keep the record.
A writing studio for independent authors: one manuscript, a desk for everyone you invite, and a signed record of how every chapter was written — so when someone asks, you can show them.
Everything on this page is Endless Tea, a novel being written in Typalog now — its real sheet, its real record.
Authors are being accused by tools that cannot tell. Your Passport can show what happened.
A detector produces a probability. Typalog was in the room. The Passport is the record of how the book was written — signed with a key only you hold, anchored outside Typalog, and checkable by anyone you send it to. It never says “human”. It says what was done, and when.

Endless Tea, on the roll. Four chapters recorded, all four chains verifying. The root is anchored with receipts from Rekor and RFC 3161, and a certificate for the whole manuscript is issued at its public hash. The seal names chains, never a verdict.
How the record is kept — and how you hand it over
- 1 · Your signing key
Created in your browser. Never exportable.
Every session is signed with it before it leaves the page. Typalog holds only the public half. A new browser makes a new key; what the old one signed stays verifiable.
held by you - 2 · Countersignature
Typalog signs what you signed.
Certificates you issue are countersigned, so a reader can tell yours from one the server made alone.
held by Typalog - 3 · Daily anchor
Published outside Typalog.
A daily root of every chain goes to independent timestamp authorities. Once a day is anchored it cannot be rewritten — not by you, not by us.
held by third parties

Composition timeline. Each step is a session — up for words written, down for words cut — and the hours between sittings are drawn as a labelled break.
Certificate of Composition. A signed statement of the text and its record at this moment — whole book or one chapter. Send it with the submission.
A sheet that behaves like paper.
Real page geometry, a running head, a scene break you choose. Chapters in the binder; characters and places in the codex. Every session is signed on your device and chained to the last — it happens while you write, and the Record is one click from the sentence.

The record, open. Poetic Beauty, chapter 1 of Endless Tea: the sessions the chapter took, the time in the text, the words net, the key that signs each one on this device — and the certificate you hand to a reader.
One manuscript. A desk for each pair of eyes.
Invite people by role. Every suggestion, note and decision stays attributed to a person and a moment, and the canonical text moves only when you move it.
Editor·tracked changes, always
canOpen a pass on a branch copy; propose changes with a note and a severity; publish the pass with a letter.
cannotTouch the canonical text.
Beta reader·comment
canRead it as a book; react, bookmark, leave notes; build a reading record.
cannotEdit or export; see outside the invited scope.
Reviewer·review
canAnchor review comments; give each chapter a verdict.
cannotAlter the text or the author's replies.
Co-author·co-author
canDraft directly in shared documents.
cannotDelete, change membership, overrule the author.

Project access. Nobody else has access until you invite them — by role, with a link that expires.

The author's desk. Where you left off, what was written this week, what collaborators have left for you.
The same page, in whichever room you write.
Ten rooms in three families — Paper, Dusk and Lamp-lit. Four are shown; all ten are below. A room recolours the studio, never the manuscript.

From draft to a book with a spine.
Choose the sections, the front matter and the trim; preview every page; export. Comments and tracked changes stay behind.
- front matterTitle page, copyright, dedication, contents — toggled per book.
- sectionsAll, written only, or a hand-picked set.
- formatsPDF, EPUB and DOCX. Real trim sizes and running heads.
- canvasesNovel, short story, poetry, screenplay, letter, non-fiction — the page knows what it holds.
- your own folderChoose a folder on your own disk and Typalog keeps a Markdown copy of the book there — a file per chapter, a whole-manuscript file, and the versions you ask for. Browsers with no folder picker (Safari, Firefox) download a ZIP instead.

Compile · Endless Tea. The title page, before there is a book behind it.
Pay for the months you're active. Nothing for the months you're not.
Three desks: Reader, Author, Editor. A higher desk includes the ones beneath it. In a month you do nothing, you pay nothing — Typalog is read-only for you and everything stays where it was.
For a manuscript sent to you as a file. Being invited costs nothing — the author’s month covers you. Leave notes; hand back a signed Reading Record.
The studio, compile and your Passport. Readers you invite are free; one editor's pass at a time is included.
Passes on any number of manuscripts, with the editorial letter and redlines.
Your first active month is free. Nobody is charged without saying yes on the sheet, in the moment it happens.
What each desk includes, the read-only floor, and a real author's year
Reader·$5 · reading month
Bring in a manuscript you were sent as a file and read it here. Invited readers never pay; the author’s month covers them. A brought-in manuscript is sealed: nothing on it can be edited, exported or compiled.
- Reactions, bookmarks, notes anchored to the text
- Reading Record — sessions, time in the text, notes anchored as you went
- Reader's Report, countersigned and anchored
Author·$12 · writing month
Compose on your own manuscript. Revising your own book with tracked changes is writing, and costs nothing more.
- Passport, certificates, daily anchoring — never an add-on
- Unlimited readers, reviewers, observers
- One editor's pass at a time; a second concurrent pass is a $6 seat
- One co-author on one manuscript
Editor·$20 · editing month
Open a pass on someone else's manuscript. Editing one friend's book inside their included seat costs you nothing; this desk is for the professional.
- Passes on any number of manuscripts
- Editorial letter, redlines, house style, lexicon, pass metrics
- A certificate of each pass on your own Passport
The floor under all three
With no active month and no card you can still open every manuscript you own or were invited to, switch rooms, open every Passport, export your own work and verify any certificate. A Passport that stopped verifying when you stopped paying would not be evidence. So it doesn't.

This starts a writing month — October, $12. Continue?
Prices in USD. Each month's statement lists the sessions and manuscripts that made it active. Charged in error? Refunded, no questions, and the work stays.
Open the binder. The record starts with the first sentence.
Bring a draft you already have — it is recorded as yours, written before Typalog. Everything from here on joins the chain. Invite the others when you are ready — not before.
